Questions/ Terms and Conditions :
- I’m getting a lot of emails asking if students can move into the next class :
- Show-Time class is split into age groups:
- Rainbows: 5-8 yrs
- Wizz: 9-11 yrs
- Wicked: 12 +
Trinity Group class is a bit more complicated, as the group move up the exam grades together, so age is not always a pointer as to which class to start in.
On the whole new Trinity, Students should start in the beginners class
Wed : 4.30-5.30pm in Newquay
Sat: 10 -11.30 am in Truro
However, if students have been attending CTS for a number of years and I’m aware of their ability they may be put into higher exam grade class straight away.
Hope this answers some commonly asked questions.
Please Read CTS Terms and Conditions before joining us for a new term.
Thank You
Stephanie
Payment:
Show-Time and Trinity Classes: £5.50 paid on a half –term or full term basis. Payment is due in the first 2 weeks of the term: via our website, BACS or on the door. However, we do offer all new students a £5.50 taster class before you commit. A free class is offered to students if a FULL -TERM is paid for: up front and on time. Once a half or full term is paid for, I’m afraid we cannot offer a refund. Most classes are close to capacity or full. The half-term payment secures a place another student could have taken.
Truro Wicked show-Time Class is £6 per session
Truro Trinity exam class is £6.50 per session, as they’re longer classes.
Full or half-term payment is due in the first two weeks of a new term. We reserve the right to ask students to sit out if classes are attended for more than 2 weeks without payment. Classes can be paid for via our website or on the door at the first class of term in cash or cheque.
Attendance:
We do expect high attendance at CTS we’re always working towards a show, exam or festival performance. We understand students are sometimes ill or have an important event they have to attend. However, it is very hard to work on songs, scenes etc with missing students. Please let us know if a student is absent from class. If a student disappears for a couple of weeks with no word their part may be given to someone else. My mobile number is: 07779 440752
Watching a Class :
On the whole, parents do not sit in on classes, unless invited to do so.
However, if younger students are nervous, parents sometimes stay for the first class.
Information: I group email everyone re shows and events. Please make sure we have your correct email: Email us at cornwalldrama@gmail.com if you’re not receiving information. However, when sending group emails it seems some don’t always get through. So here are other ways to keep up with information:
1: OUR WEBSITE, CLICK ON NEWS: ( www.cornwalltheatreschool.co.uk)
2: The Notice Board: Each class has a notice board with information re Costumes, rehearsals, dates etc.
3: FaceBook: join our “Cornwall Theatre School” FaceBook page: News is
Updated regularly.
Publicity:
We sometimes use pictures of our students for publicity. Please let us know if you have any objection to this?
COSTUMES AND KIT/ SHOW-TIME CLASS:
You will need to provide costumes for our shows. We try to keep the cost down when we can, by keeping costume ideas simple and not insisting they are all the same. However, there are occasionally exceptions to this rule and a catalogue costume may be needed. In this case, the costume idea will be emailed to you with a link and posted on our website and facebook page. Costume ideas and guidelines are posted on our notice board and website well in advance. Please take into account that costumes will need to be provided for 2 shows a year, before deciding to join our school.
If we can help with costumes we do, but we don’t have the budget to costume all our shows and students.
We try and keep costumes down to one or two, per students per show.
All SHOW –Time students now need a CTS T-shirt to wear, so they can represent us at shows and local events.
We do not insist they wear the CTS T-Shirt in class, but it is preferable. However, students need to be dressed in comfortable clothes they can work in eg: Joggers, leggings, t-shirts and hoodies. Trainers or black jazz shoes. Can girls please NOT come in skirts? Thank-you.
TRINITY –STUDENTS
All Trinity students need a CTS T-shirt and black jazz shoes to wear in class and for their exam.
They will also need to provide a costume for their festival performances.
Again we try and keep the costume cost down, however, Trinity exam students perform at festivals and local events regularly, often competing against other local dance and dram schools. They need to look professional and in this case, it’s more important for them to have matching costumes. So catalogue bought costumes may be required once a year. Please take this into account before joining our Trinity exam classes. We take a Trinity college of London exam once a year, there is an exam fee. The fee varies depending on the size of the group or the grade being taken.
